Drip Detective

Drip Detective is a Web Application that my friend Reid and I made during the 2019 Madhacks Carbon competition. The theme of this hackathon was sustainability, so we created a shower timer/tracker with HTML, JavaScript, and a Bootstrap framework. The goal of the timer was to calculate water usage, and store it along with log in information using Google Firebase. I developed the scripts as well as the front end interface, while Reid handled the back end data storage. This was a great learning experience for me because it was my first time using HTML and JavaScript.

Irish Poker

Irish Poker is a card game that I recreated using Java. This project was made summer 2019 as a way to teach myself in between semesters and I decided to improve it in Winter 2020. I used an ArrayList to dynamically store the deck of cards, and a random number generator to select one. The selected card is compared to user input and the game progresses accordingly. This is my website! I created it using a template from startbootstrap.com and my knowledge of CSS/HTML. This is an ongoing project that helps me improve and showcase my coding skills through site updates and maintainence. Movie Night

Movie Night was created during my Software Engineering class at UW-Madison in the Fall semseter of 2021. This is an Android/iOS application for social event planning for groups who want an easy way to decide on movies. Once a user creates or joins a group, they are able to search for movies, add them to the queue, then vote on them as a group. Our tech stack uses React Native for the frontend and ASP .NET Web API and Microsoft Azure along with SQL server for the backend. Unfortunately, we were unable to publish the project to stores, but you can check out our code in the repos below.

Gettin' Dicey

Gettin' Dicey is a top-down rougelike game created during the Game Maker's Toolkit Game Jam 2022. The competition ran for a total of 50 hours and had over 6,000 submissions. This was my first experience developing a game, and specifically, my first time using the Godot game engine. This was a great experience as I was able to learn about game design and the intricasies of game development through player movement, artwork, input output, and much more. Nautical

Nautical is a peer to pier boat sharing platform created to make boating more accessible and affordable. Anthony Palmer, Reid Miller, and I started this project while participating in CS Nest where we competed in the CS Nest competition as well as the Transcend Madison 2022 Innovation Competition. Through these competitions, I gained experience of in depth idea development, hosting a poster session, and presenting a pitch to judges and an audience. Post competition(s), we are working on developing a website using Django as a place for boat owners to post listings and connect to people interested in their services. The current link to our website will direct you to join our mailing list, but we hope to publish our full service soon!
